getting header/tags from within emacs?

I've made the jump to svn and really like it! I've been using emacs with cvs
for years and want to know how to add the headers now like I could when
using cvs from within emacs. I used to be able to [C-x v h] and a tag would
appear in the file such as:

### $Id: systemfit.R 163 2006-02-17 10:17:05Z henningsena $

(only with the cvs header)...

and now, I don't know how to add tags :-(

I've managed to figure out how to committ changes to the repos, but that's
about it.

I've tried to add the tag manually, and sometimes emacs freezes, chokes,
etc....
