Indexing/Searching of meta data in custom properties?

Hello,

I'm entirely new to this ... please bare with me!
I was wondering whether there's a subversion internal mechanism of
indexing/searching metadata contained in svn properties or whether somebody
has come up with a - preferably pythonish - solution to this.
