Can I load balance Apache/SVN?

Hi,

I'm setting up the infrastructure for an enterprise-wide rollout of SVN.
I've chosen to use Apache/SVN as the method, but I heard a rumor that this
couldn't be setup behind a load balancer. Has anyone tried this? It is
crucial that we be able to scale this to potentially thousands of users,
and just dropping in additional servers as needed is a great way to go if
it works.
