In this case there must be something terribly wrong with your server
setup and you have a lot more patience then most, to have considered
this "just the way it works"!

If you are using a CollabNet setup you probably should contact them
directly for support. Otherwise you'd need to list details of your
setup before anyone could help.

I work on a "large" project of around ~15 million LOC and we have no
problems -- typical operations on smaller trees finish within seconds.
On very large trees merging might take a couple minutes at most.
