remove dead transactions

hi

i have a problem with a dead transaction (svnlook info told me the
transaction was dead) that appears to be un-removable

running

  svnadmin rmtxns d:/path/to/repos txn

will hang forever (well 2hours+ before i killed the command) - is this
normal even for a large commit (500MB) ?
