What kind of repository is this—FSFS or BDB? And is db/revs/51
especially large? There have been some reports lately that commits
larger than 2GB seem to be accepted by the repository but are then
truncated in FSFS repositories hosted on Linux.

The error message has usually been that "Revision file lacks trailing
newline" though, so you may be seeing a different problem.
