Help please subversion?

Hi, i must be really stupid which i probably am but anywho i have subversion 1.3.0 or what ever it is and tortoise svn and i have looked in the folders everywhere and cannot find out how to get it open or running or anything. All i want to do is update aryan111 by doing the svn update. A tutorial would be nice or step by step as i am very slow lol. thanks very much
