Strange svnversion -c behavior (mixed revision output)

From: Vincent Lefevre <vincent+svn_at_vinc17.org>

I don't understand the behavior of "svnversion -c".
I've done the following:

$ svn co svn+ssh://gforge/svn/mpfr/trunk mpfr-trunk
$ cd mpfr-trunk
$ svnversion -c .
1533:3997

Why do I get a mixed revision?

This is with svnversion, version 1.2.3 (r15833), under Linux (Debian).
Ditto with svnversion, version 1.3.0 (r17949), under Mac OS X.
