Well, to be fair, I don't think the Subversion developers are sitting
around twiddling their thumbs all day. As the bug tracker should
show, there are many many bugs. And given developers' individual
levels of expertise, familiarity with the code and time constraints,
and the severity and difficulty of the bug, it's understandable that
they might choose to fix something easy or something that's very
important, like something that's actively destroying data, rather
than something like the renaming issue, which while important to many
people, is not in fact causing data loss, and is not easy to fix.
Ideally, perhaps yes, all bugs should be fixed. But software is
complex, and in a volunteer effort, we must either be patient, do it
ourselves, or provide incentive for the developers to prioritize
certain tasks.
