Thanks for answering this question. I've been reading this thread and
meaning to do it, but after the way Kent started out ("it's a bug and
it has to be fixed") I just couldn't get myself to do it.
Kent, you're in Open Source Software here. Subversion has been
developed by 20 to 30 developers (and lots of contributers) of which
only 4 have been working on it full time and paid. If I speak for
myself, working on Subversion means 5 nights a week (every week) 5 to
6 hours. On a non-paid basis. You just don't come in here demanding
fixes like that! (If I sound offended, yes, you're right, I definitely
am.) You got the program for free. How about giving something back in
terms of a fix or otherwise?!
Ok. Well, having said that, it's one of the hardest problems to be
solved in the issue database. It's also in one of the most critical
parts of the program: the datastore. Please be patient and let us do
this with the quality you're used to.
