Creating a tar/zip along with svn copy

Hello
        
        Is there any way to store my tags as a tar/zip file ? svn copy will
copy the same directory structure, but I would like to have it as a single
file, so that I could send the http link ( I have a viewsvn also installed )
to some of my colleagues who doesn't have subversion knowledge. Currently, I
am separately creating a tar file and sending tar files to the colleagues
when ever I make a beta release of my project
