Problems dumping a directory tree and then loading into fresh repository

Not sure if this ever got through...sending again....

I have a directory tree that I'm trying to dump from one repository and
then load in to a new repository.
I've extracted all the pertinent revisions by parsing an svn log of the
path, and now I'm running dumps and loads over all the revision ranges.

However, I keep running into several errors like the following:
* adding path blah/blah/blah/blah ...svn: File not found: revision 691,
svn: Can't write to stream: Broken pipe

or

* editing path : blah2/blah2/blah2 ...svn: File not found: transaction
'jq', path 'blah2/blah2/blah2'
svn: Can't write to stream: Broken pipe

Any help?

The server version is 1.1.4 (r13838)

Thanks.
