Ouch... you have my sympathies, Dmitry. I'm having nightmares already from
recalling the hellishness of attempting to do development work on pre-OS X
systems.. :)
Sadly, the Java bindings option is almost certain to be a no-go unless they work
with the now-ancient 1.1.8 JVM (Apple never released full JDKs for the Mac OS
until OS X), which was the last JVM release for Mac OS 9.
In response to Ryan's comment about WebDAV, Mac OS 9 doesn't have a built-in
client for it... it's an awfully long shot, but Google and/or VersionTracker.com
(a Mac software tracking site) may unearth an OS 9-compatible WebDAV client,
although you would be stuck with the limitations imposed by WebDAV.
Good luck...
Cheers,
