Following my (very subjective and not thoroughly tested) opinion, I would try
and reload the repository using fsfs backend. It seems that fsfs is pretty
stable and does not suffer from the problems of database compatibility or
corruption... Maybe this will be a viable workaround until you pinpoint
problem with bdb.
