The system is windows firewalled, however I have made an exception for
Subversion which has run fine over the interent.

I haven't tried the VGA thing, but I'll definitely try it.

By a file integrity check, are you thinking I should try something like a
scan disc or defrag?

The thing that makes me suspect subversion (or Tortoise) is that the system
ONLY crashes now if I attempt a commit. Its like clockwork. It could be
that the graphics driver and Subversion are both after the same memory
address or something weird like that, but I haven't had any other problems
with any other software on this machine. Its only when I do the commit.

I don't actually ever see a "blue screen of death". Its very rare that I
get that under XP (as opposed to the old days of 95/98/ME where it was
rampant.) The machine just spontaneously reboots, and then I get the error
reporting once I log back in.

I'm currently doing a virus check, but again things were fine before today.
I have AVG anti-virus on this box as well.

:(

Thanks for your help,
Craig

Is the windows firewall enabled? Have you scanned for viruses? Have you
checked the integrity of the file system? Did you try dumbing down the
graphics to VGA to see if the problem goes away?

As for the bug check: Subversion runs in user mode, so there is
absolutely no way that it is responsible for a bug check (aka blue
screen of death). However, the graphics driver runs in kernel mode, so
it can be responsible for a bug check. The error report is probably
correct.

Good luck.
