security issues

Hi,

I am currently using cvs and trying to decide how am I going to
migrate to subversion.

My major concern now is security. My updates are usually performed in
external servers and my cvs server located behind a firewall using
ssh.

Since I am still trying to understand how things work is there a way
to use ssh and still rely on apache/webdav?

Or is there a better way to setup.
