Hi,
I built 1.1.3 on Win2K server using VC++6. Not XP but maybe close enough to help.
These were the notes I made at the time to fix the problems I had building it.
Had to download latest Windows SDK.
Located at http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/platformsdk/sdkupdate/
Select just the Core SDK.
Download and build BerkeleyDB
Located at http://www.sleepycat.com/download/index.shtml
I used version 4.2.52. Built without problems on Win2K Server
Download apr-iconv
For some reason the Subversion source (v1.1.3) did not include the source for apr-iconv
I downloaded v0.9.5 as this was the version being used for apr and apr-util
Located at http://apr.apache.org/download.cgi#apr0
or directly to the file at http://ftp.plig.net/pub/apache/dist/apr/apr-iconv-0.9.5.tar.gz
