checkout text replacement

Hello, how is it possible to replace tags in checked out files like the
author, revision etc ? For example i would like an header like this:

/*

        File: $file
        Revision: $file
        Created: $file author: $author
        Last updated: $file by: $author when: $when

*/

etc, etc

i read the manual
