hi folks,

whenever i use svn client i get a segmentation fault. its also the
same case with svnadmin, svnversion and other utils. i'm able only to
run svnserve as a daemon process. yesterday i had posted the same
problem, but with less details.

i use red hat linux 9 and here is what i did:

1) i installed the latest stable rel of apache:
       ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache2
       make && make install

2) next i compiled subversion-1.1.3 in the following manner.
       ./configue --prefix=/usr/local/svn
       make && make install

i know very little about berkely db and its importance in subversion
installation.
somebody plz tell me where i have gone wrong and is it really
necessary for berkely db to be installed? also, plz tell me what
changes should be made in http.conf file if i have to have apache
support for the svn server.

thanx,

mahesh
