Best LC_CTYPE setup for a Mac OS X svn client-server

Hello,

I'm running an svn server on Mac OS X box, and I'll have Mac OS X svn
clients using it. I've had many problem with special characters (french
language : accented letters, ...) that I've solved by setting LC_CTYPE
to fr_FR.ISO8859-1 on clients machines.

I've tried yesterday to switch LC_CTYPE to fr_FR.UTF-8, doing this on
both server and client side, with relative success :

- no "can't recode string" error (so far, so good)
- but badly coded special characters.

any hint about best LC_CTYPE value on Mac OS X is greatly appreciated !
thanks,

patpro
