Authentication using UNIX passwords

From: Lukas Ruf <ruf_at_rawip.org>

Dear all,

I am using subversion via apache2 over https for many people.
My problem is that I have to enter separate/specific passwords for all
the people that would want to use subversion -- and they cannot change
the passwords.

Hence, my question: Is it possible via any means to have the password
authentication bound to the UNIX passwords *in addition* to the
standard way of htpasswd2? (I assume this is an apache2 configuration
issue -- but I do not know where to ask if not here....)

Thanks in advance!

wbr,
Lukas
