Interesting, but not really so surprising. Apache has the "nasty" habit
of really stressing every nook and cranny of the TCP stack, including
the NIC driver. For example, it's the only software I know of that
triggered the original TCP buffer corruption bug on Windows XP. So it's
quite possible that your GB NIC driver has a bug.
