Berkeley DB problem

Hi,

I have got a problem concerning Berkeley DB. I have recently switched to
Fedora Core 3, which has a subversion linked against bdb 4.2. I didn't notice
until when I tried to export from an old svn repository. Obviously, the old
subversion program (created by Gentoo portage) was linked against bdb 4.1.

Now I have one repository with 4.1, and one with 4.2, and I don't seem to be
able to transform one format into the other. db_upgrade keeps complaining
about a "wrong environment", and db_recover makes funny things, but doesn't
seem to help in any way.

The worst: I can't access the old db at all: The library naming conventions
apparently conflict in multiple ways, so the subversion binary won't work
without some changes in the system.

Is there a known working way of migrating the subversion dbs?

Kind regards
k.j.
