project revision

Hello,
i try to create my own project information like "1.1.0beta"
It is possible to set this information on special files and / or folders
under
my trunk directory?
This information should be stroed on special files because some files
are member of "1.1.1beta".
And it is possible to see this information in any log message / history or
something else.
