This is not nearly enough information to debug the problem.

But 1.0 is quite old and has many bugs that have since been fixed. Since
you just started, I recommend just starting over from scratch with 1.1.1
on both sides. I recommend trying the fsfs backend, which is a bit easier
to setup and maintain than the bsddb backend.
