What went wrong? I built a working 1.0.6 from the tarball without a problem.
I've not tested it thoroughly, but I have been through checkout/update/
commit cycles with it several times. I built with gcc, BTW.

I have vaguely looked at building RPMs based on the RedHat RPMs, but
without success to date. Right now I don't have any pressing reason
for taking it further.

I'll dig out the binaries, pop them somewhere and let Rob know.
Have to boot the Intellistation first. This takes some time. :-)
