I'm sorry to hear that you've having these problems with
Subversion+httpd, but that statement is not true. I'm sure that it works
for most people or we would have heard a lot more on this list.

Have you tried to use svnserve? It's a lot easier to set up. You can use
the same repository and you and make you working copies point to the
svnserve using "svn swich --relocate OLD-URL NEW-URL". You can find more
