Others addressed your other points well, so I will not. I do not KNOW
that the server would need to push that info to the client, but I wouldn't
be surprised if there were aspects to the API that would require the
client to know the real revision behind the alias, so it I was thinking
that the information might need to be available directly to the client. In
which case, you would want the server to be able to push that information
out to the client, just as you people would like other information like
auto-props, etc.. to be pushed out.
