It may be the Apache; I've seen some hints in the FAQ.

No, we did not compile the Apache; we use the packed XLAMP
(http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html), may be this decision was not
the best.
Do you know a simple workaround?

This sounds like your problem. Someone (Apache, maybe?) is bringing in the
wrong version of Berkeley DB.

Did you compile Apache and everything else from source? Do you remember the
configuration options you passed, and the output of 'configure'?
