I seem to recall somewhere in the documentation or a FAQ that they
wanted the backed to be more lightweight. A DB server implies a whole
server/client architecture which not every organization possesses. Then
again, my pre-coffee state might be halucinating again.

I think I read some where on this list about a month or so back that
one of the many, many, things on the developer's TODO list is to make
the back end DB indepent - or at least support a wider range of
databases.
