I have now successfully dumped my repository from on old version of subversion and loaded into new version.

Thankyou to everybody for their help.

Regards, Tim.

John,

I just found out that the original respository was created with version 0.23.0.

I know have 4.0.14 installed on my system, not 4.1. I am using Redhat 9.

Thanks, Tim.

That actually sounds like the Berkeley version used on the original repository
is not the same as what was used by the static-linked svnadmin you just built.
I'm afraid I don't know how to tell what version of BDB was used to create a
repository; perhaps someone else can chime in with a clue. It would help to
know exactly what software was used to originally create the repository; if you
can determine what was installed when the repos was created, that would solve
your problem.

I suspect that when you originally created the repository, BDB 4.0 was installed
as the system library and you now have BDB 4.1 installed (you wouldn't be able
to install using BDB 4.2 with such an old release). Or vice versa (there was a
time when 4.1 seemed to be stable and hence preferred). I'm sorry I can't be
more help...

John
