This is /very/ strange. In the sense that it can't happen. Or if it can,
it's a very fundamental bug in the vdelta generator. Can you
consistently reproduce this with any data set, or with that specific
perl file? If it's only that file, then I'd ask you to post the file
contents (before and after commit) so that we can try to reproduce the
error.

If it's any data set, then I suspect something's wrong with your compiler...
