Large Binary File Storage

Can anyone relay their experience with storing large binary files in
subversion? We have a project that accumulated about 100 GB of data
last year and we are considering subversion as the new version control
system (the old method was just to accumulate dated copies). Some of
the files are about 15 MB in size. Are there any known limitation with
files this size or larger? Also, it is my understanding that Subversion
will not try to merge binary files - is this correct?
