How to generate a release ?

Greetings !!!
 
I want to add labels to my files so I can to generate a release from the
labels, so I can to get files from differents revisions (in agreement with my
requeriments and the objects states). I want to make that automatically, so I
can to get files associate with the labels.
 
I am reading about "properties" but I donīt know how to do it.
 
I need to decide what control version system to use.
