apparently the problem may be in the apache 2.0.49 tree itself.

apache 2.0.50 is almost ready so its apr should be ok and we assume
that the updated one will be included with svn once released.

This is what I was told from a fellow I am working with in porting svn
apache modules to netware.

Our general rule has always been: the svn release tarball ships with
the same apr included in the latest released apache tarball.
