Thanks for the transcript. For what it's worth as another data point, I ran
through the whole script with svnserve 1.0.1 (r9023, Debian unstable) running
on Linux, and svn command line client 1.0.1 on Windows XP (TortoisePlink 0.53
as the SSH client). Unfortunately, I wasn't able to reproduce the behavior...
the update succeeded as expected, and everything looked fine.
