SVN and network filesystems

It's not OK---at least not OK on AFS. I have had seen
repository corruption if the repository was on AFS,
even with single clients. My repository now lives on
a local disk, backed up daily onto AFS using 'svnadmin dump'.

I am quite surprised by this, and do not understand how
it can happen, since this guy has probably arranged
"not to do that", by making sure nobody else is accessing
his files.
