Okay, we're descending into nominalism now :-) (and it began before
Ed's post, too).

Here we try to avoid the Microsoft-bashing that seems to be so
fashionable on other mailing lists. Note that there are some
excellent Microsofters among Subversion's developers.

As for why we support multiple RA methods: because they have different
strengths. For any of the RA layers, if we yanked it, we'd get a lot
of complaints. Just looking at the traffic on the users list shows
that they are all in widespread use.
