Hahah -- I just joined the list and this is what I'm getting in my
inbox :).

I pronounce it "subversion" -- as is a version underneath; I believe
this pronunciation is backed by versioning concept, as each commit
essentially makes a sub-version of the previous.

The difference in pronunciation is extremely subtle, and I applaud your
effort in attempting this via email.
