Sounds like a big change and one that could change the client-server
protocol. If you want to do it just in the client then look at my
earlier suggestion: omit the client side post-commit processing, send
an update request after the commit, get the new versions from the
repository and decide whether to merge into, or unconditionally
overwrite, the working copy.
