My "main" working (and home) environment is Windows XP Pro, and I'm very
happily using Subversion there (with Apache 2.0.48, not svnserve).

The fact is, I have also a Windows Me machine where I'm doing a little
development (programming Lego MindStorms robots in pbForth), and I
thought about creating a little repository and saving my code on it. I
could easily foresee problems with Apache and/or svnserve in such a
system, but, as I don't have to share my pbForth code with anyone, I
thought I'd get off with local access via file://. Boy, was I surprised
to see that I was unable to even *create* a working, valid repository!
