I'm definitely looking for us to perform a "spike" of Subversion before
committing to using it, yes. Problem with small projects that have been
successful is we need to ramp up to "seriously big" quite quickly. Our
repository is over 10k files, and we're looking at getting to over a
hundred developers on multiple continents. The spike would ideally be
done by a remote team over whatever connectivity we end up with (VPN
most likely, it's actually easier than sorting an internet-facing Apache
server).
