I prefer *nix boxen for servers, for stability reasons. But that's just me.

I've used both the command line, and TortoiseSVN. I've found TortoiseSVNto
be absolutely great, and much easier to use than the command line (even for
a command-line junkie like me).

You, me and most other users. ;) I've been using subversion for more than a
year now, for production work, with two different companies. Of course,
there were problems here and there, but thanks to frequent dumps of the
repository, no work has ever been lost.
