And, the most interesting stuff is its project files (.pj). They contain
lists of files/revisions tuples that define a recorded state (a.k.a
"checkpoint"). The project file is also kept under souce control. It
keeps track of branches ("variants") by branching the project file, and
taking note of the branch point in a special section in the trunk
version of the project file.

The required change in mks2cvs would start taking the "variant" section
in the project files into consideration.
