to uninstall or not to uninstall ...

Hi all out there!

Following list mail I see that some explicitly say they uninstalled
the previous release of SVN / TSVN before setting up the new
version. Being at this point for the first time now my question is:

to uninstall or not to uninstall before?

What is the suggestion/recommendation for Win2000? Is there a
best way at all? Most commercial software either has explicit
upgrade packages or says to install just into the old path. I have
not seen anything related on the SVN install page.
