Project Monitor - Unable to connect to a repository at URL

What I'm trying to do:
Click on my projects in the project monitor to get the latest updates
What should happen: The main window should show all new commits
What happens: I get the message: Unable to connect to a repository at URL (...). No more credentials or we tried too many times. Authentication failed. Double click to clear message.
What fixes it: Double clicking to clear the error message and then double clicking on the project fixes the issue (I see all new commits in the new window). However, shortly after I re-encounter the same issue.
