Hitting enter in Search bar on project monitor closes it

Currently the search bar on project monitor has an annoying feature. If I search for any string (for e.g. a revisoion number) instinctively as all other searches work I hit an enter, which closes the project monitor. Is this intended? If yes, I need to tune myself to note doing so.
