settings sync didn't work or we don't know how to do it

Hello
i read docs part about sync settings but something didn't work.

We have last stable release
we have all the same paths on our computer so i setup hooks on my computer
entered in SYNC menù than also without password i tried to export manually settings by selecting EXPORT LOCAL PATH
but:
1) when i import manually file on other computer it ask me a password i didn't set so if i presso OK it ask me again for the password...
2) i tried to export a setting from my pc, change a setting here then re-import the old setting sync file. No password required and this time was ok but nothing changed on my settings

about setting i mean to see hook scripts changed

can you help me?
