Ok, this one was really hard. Mostly because I couldn't reproduce it: it
doesn't crash in a debug build but only in a release build, and I'm
always testing using a debug build to get more info.
So I spent hours until I finally realized that.
Once I tried the release build I could reproduce the problem. But of
course in a release build it's much harder to pinpoint the actual problem.

But I think I finally fixed it in r26926.

Please try a nightly build with that or a greater rev.
You might have to clear the log cache first to get rid of the crash, but
after that it should work fine.
