Repository locked while merging

Hi,

when I merge from one branch to another, I get the following message about 50% of the time (takes a few seconds to appear though):

Merging revisions X of trunk into c:\sandbox\branch
"c:\sandbox\branch" is already locked by "c:\sandbox\branch"
Please execute the Cleanup command.

When I attempt the same merge again, it usually works (though sometimes I need more than two attempts).

This started happening a few months ago. I'm currently using 1.9.2.

Any suggestions?
